My name is Jan Davies and my life began in August 2001. I was 46 years old by that time, but everything up until then had simply been in preparation for the main event.
It was on a coach trip to Holland with my daughter that Reiki found me in the form of Anita Heeley - who was to become my Reiki Master - and her husband Mick - also a Reiki Master. The synchronicity of events that had taken me to that place at that time struck me like a ton of bricks. Suddenly all became clear. Although I had never even heard of Reiki, as they spoke it was as though they were waking something up in me… as though I already knew what they were telling me at some level, but I had forgotten.
I could see that everything that had happened in my life up to that point - bad as well as good - had led me here, prepared me for what I immediately knew was my life's purpose. To become Reiki, to help spread Reiki, to provide Reiki treatments and attunements and bring together groups of like-minded people.
In that 'knowing', that recognition and resonance at soul level was the most profound peace and the purest joy.
Filled with that joy, I rang my husband, John - at home in England - to try to share it with him - although words could not really do it justice. By the time I got home, two days later he had downloaded and printed off reams of information from the Internet and wetted his own appetite as well.
It's because there is so much information about the history of Reiki readily available that I have not included anything about its origins on these pages.

Although Reiki need not be attached to any form of spirituality or religion, John and I both felt that here was the reason why - all through our lives - separately - we had been interested in - let's say things spiritual or the metaphysical. Neither of us had ever really had anything to attach it to before - now it all made perfect sense, even down to why we were meant to be together.
I briefly looked for more local Reiki Masters as Anita & Mick live in Doncaster, approx 130 miles from us on the Wirral. This was half-hearted though because I felt from the outset that we were meant to work together, and in any case I couldn't find a local Master in the system of Reiki that Anita & Mick worked with - the Tera Mai™ system - and I felt I wanted to work with this system too.
Briefly:- Tera Mai™ - developed by American Kathleen Milner utilises the healing rays from all four elements - earth, wind, fire and water instead of just the one ray associated with the earth element (see Reiki & Seichem page). Kathleen went on many consciousness raising journeys and retrieved symbols which we use to initiate, or attune others to all the elemental healing rays.
By January 2002 I had become a Tera Mai™ Reiki & Seichem Master and John had his level 1. Subsequently I have performed his level 11 and Mastership attunements. The latter on the beach at dawn on the island of Thassos, Greece in September 2002 (see below)

In this context 'Master' does not imply Spiritual Mastership, Ascended 'Being-ness', or any such thing. It simply means teacher.

Kathleen Milner has also developed a series of attunements into the Egyptian Cartouche - said to help with the development of the intuition. I have also received these attunements and Mastership in them so that I can pass them on to others. People who do readings of any sort can benefit from these as well. I have worked part-time in the caring profession since 1986 and I am a qualified counsellor. John retired from his job in product development for a steel company in November 2003, subsequently worked part-time for nine months then had another 'rest' and now works part-time for the company who deliver Learn Direct courses in local libraries, which he loves. We live in a lovely old house in Wallasey on the Wirral in Merseyside, two minutes walk from the sea, we have a rescue collie cross dog we called Holly (yes - Holly the collie!). She came to live with us in July 2003, adopted from Manchester dog's home. She is very sweet and incredibly intelligent.

I feel lucky to have my children near to me. My eldest son and his civil partner will be adopting 2 children very soon and they will be most welcome additions to our family.

My second son and his wife gave me my first grandson, Sam in December 2006 - and another one, Ted in June 2008

My daughter shares a flat with 2 friends a couple of miles away and John's daughter lives in Chester with her husband and son.

We have both been married before but have been together since 1991 and married since 1995. Neither of us has any regrets or resentments about what's gone before in our lives, as we both believe that all of our experiences were lessons that we had to learn, and combined to make us into the people we are now - the people we were meant to be, and while those people are still growing and evolving they're pretty much okay!!

I had never been drawn to learn any other complementary therapy until Quantum-Touch® found me in May 2004. This must be experienced to be believed. Please take the time to read the Quantum-Touch page and then see the main web site via Links. We have travelled around the country - and to some others - teaching this life-changing healing touch. Being one of the first Instructors in Europe was a priviledge (Number 2 if we're counting! :0)))

In April 2007 we were lucky enough to become acquainted with ThetaHealing. Please see the ThetaHealing page and then for further information do look at Wendy (our teacher)'s site and if you fancy a treatment it should be fairly easy to find a practitioner near you - I am proud to be one of those too!

Our interests in Reiki and healing are not identical but compliment each other beautifully. Towards our mission in spreading the word we hold relaxation/meditation evenings, energy awareness days, Tera Mai™ share/group healing sessions, attunement workshops, Quantum-Touch workshops etc. See events for content and diary for some arranged dates.

I now also do Tarot and Intuitive readings, both face to face and remotely, and I'm doing a lot more distance healing and reading work which I find has greatly improved since the addition of ThetaHealing to my repertoire.

I had the honour and priviledge to be allowed and able to look after my father in the final stages of his life during 2007 culminating in his death in August. Ironically - when I look back at 2007 - this time is highlighted as the both the worst and the best time of the year.

The reason for it being the worst is obvious, as for it being the best??? In spite of the circumstances I was able to look on and see what was going on. Our family was brought together in a way no other circumstances would ever command. Mutual support, understanding, respect and the sheer desire to be there - to help, physically, mentally and emotionally, to love, to support, to cheer him on his way and let both of them know that Mum would be looked after and supported.

After his death - the way each of my children managed to say something at the funeral and the amount of support I received from friends and relatives, some of whom didn't even know my father to speak to, brought home to me just how important our relationships with each other are. The effect we have when we interact - we may not have known each other for long or we may have known each other for a lifetime. The time doesn't matter - the effect can be profound.
